AI search
AI readiness audit
Check whether ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews can find, read and quote your website, with a plain-English fix for each problem.
Method
What the audit checks
Each check passes, needs work or fails. A pass earns its full points, needs work earns half, and a fail earns none. If PageSpeed can't run, speed is left out and the score is out of the checks that did. We read the site the way a crawler does, from our server, and we don't store it.
AI crawler access (robots.txt)
Whether robots.txt lets GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended, ClaudeBot and CCBot read your homepage.
20 points
Content visible without JavaScript
How many words are in the HTML before any JavaScript runs. Most AI crawlers don't run it.
15 points
Structured data (JSON-LD)
JSON-LD that says who you are: Organization or LocalBusiness, plus Product, FAQPage or Article.
15 points
Mobile page speed
Google's Lighthouse mobile performance score, when PageSpeed is available.
12 points
Page titles
A unique, sensibly sized title on every page.
8 points
XML sitemap
An XML sitemap at /sitemap.xml or listed in robots.txt.
8 points
Meta descriptions
A short summary on every page, which assistants often reuse.
7 points
One main heading per page
Exactly one main heading per page.
5 points
Canonical links
A canonical link naming each page's preferred URL on your own domain.
5 points
llms.txt
An optional /llms.txt file: a short Markdown guide to the site for AI tools.
5 points
A good score means assistants can read and quote your site. It doesn't mean they will recommend you: that depends on what else is written about you.
